These are the software products that Linux Network Services offers:

- PHP Class to administer Zimbra systems
- The CIP/Ethernet Library for Linux
- The CELL library ported to Windows
- Allen Bradley Ethernet Library for Linux
- Real time data monitor for ControlLogix
- Tape backup software for Linux systems

Are you here looking for the CELL/ABEL libraries, well - you have come to the right place in a sense. You see, I am the original author of both the CELL and ABEL libraries. To this day, I still provide support services for these two pieces of software. For those of you who have used my services, I say thank you! You have made the CELL/ABEL libraries what they are today.

As with all good things, there comes a time when it becomes appropriate to retire the old so that the new can be created and flourish. It is with this that I am announcing that I am now considering both the CELL and ABEL libraries obsolete and no longer supported by me. I know that this will cause some of you some level of concern and that is understandable. That is why I am likewise today announcing the creation of a new project - ICS. ICS stands for "Industrial Communications Server".

ICS will offer the next generation of industrial communications support to Linux and Windows users and will be designed from the ground up to be better behaved than CELL/ABEL and will address many of the short-comings that plagued CELL/ABEL such as:

  • Utilize a fully plugable device driver model allowing one library to support many PLCs
  • Support for asynchronous communications with the PLC
  • Support for RS232 communications
  • Better Windows support
  • Better memory management of all internally stored registers
  • Thread Safety
  • Better documentation
  • And many many more features...

ICS is currently under development and I am anticipating a Q3-2010 release date at this time.
